‘Rhythm & Repetition’
This exhibition looks at rhythm and repetition as a shared ground between music and art making. The artists work across ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, video and 3d modelling. Each often sharing a role in music, through creation, subject, community and friendships. Here, the premise of rhythm and repetition echoes beyond musicality, towards the actions of art making across mediums like throwing pots, mark making, editing frames. All of which form a rhythm and a motion, repeating actions and returning to a process.
Presented downstairs at Van Q, once a bank vault and now a DIY art space, the vault history offers a dry irony. A room built to protect capital now holds work made in economies defined by persistence and a joy in the action of making. Featuring Alexandra Neville, Angus Black, Brooke Taylor, Casey St John, Heather Duncan, Narrang, Nova Farrell, and Yanni Cvetanovic, the show spans ceramics, moving image, 3D modelling, drawing, painting, and photography.

The Bundeena Maianbar Art Trail Inc presents the exhibition TRAILBLAZERS, an exhibition showcasing a diverse selection of artists working in various mediums, offering inspiration to a wide audience.
Celebrating diversity has been an important emphasis of the creative talent in our area for the last 24 years, with these artists pioneering the initial ‘Art Trail.’
These movers and shakers are expressing something more enduring than mere material benefit; they have a vision, which has evolved and continued over the years and has encouraged so many more art trails all over the country.
This artist community welcomes dialogue with all visitors and offers the opportunity to view each artist's working environment on the first Sunday of every month, as they open their studios to the public. This demonstrates an unparalleled commitment to art and culture in the area.
