Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
All sales are final, but if you need to reschedule your class, just ask! I’ll do my best to find a new time for you, though during busy seasons I might be booked up. To help everything go smoothly, please try to pick the best date for you when you book. Thanks for understanding! 😊
WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M LATE OR MISS MY CLASS?
Just a quick heads-up: I don’t offer make-up classes or refunds for missed sessions. If you’re a bit late, it could affect your final artwork—so try to arrive a few minutes early! That way, you can settle in, relax, and get the most fun and creativity out of your workshop time. I can’t always fit make-up time in at the end to make up for lateness, depending on my schedule, so being on time really helps!!
WHAT IF MY PIECE CRACKS OR BREAKS IN THE KILN?
Creating with ceramics is a wild ride—sometimes cracks or breaks sneak in during firing. I handle every piece with love and care, but I can’t take responsibility for damage that’s not due to my own mistake. These tiny surprises are all part of the enchanting (and tricky!) world of clay and kiln. Thanks for rolling with it!
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO FIRE MY PIECE?
Usually, your piece will be fired and ready about 5-6 weeks after the workshop. Once it’s finished with the final glaze firing, I’ll send you an email right away! You’ll have a whole month to swing by the studio to collect your beautiful creation or get in touch to arrange shipping. Keep an eye on your inbox—and maybe peek in your spam folder too, just to be safe!
DO I OFFER A FIRING SERVICE?
I will be very soon! Sign up for my monthly newsletter and keep your eyes peeled!
DO I OFFER CHILDREN’S CLASSES?
Not currently, although this is definitely a consideration for the near future. Under-16s can join workshops, provided they are accompanied by a paying adult for the duration of the class.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COLLECT MY WORK?
I’d love to keep your masterpiece forever, but I need space for the many other beautiful creations that flow through my studio. Typically, I can hold onto your work for about a month after your workshop. After that, any unclaimed pieces find new homes through donation to charity.
EXCESSIVELY INTOXICATED & DISRUPTIVE PARTICIPANTS
Excessive intoxication and disruptive behavior are not permitted in the studio. If you arrive at your workshop visibly over-intoxicated or start showing antisocial conduct, you will be asked to leave immediately. No refunds or credits will be given to those asked to depart for reasons related to excessive intoxication.
REFUNDS AND RETURNS ON CERAMICS
If you’ve bought a ceramic piece from my online store and it arrives damaged or defective, please snap plenty of photos of the issue and contact me as soon as you can. Usually, I can repair the piece if you’re able to cover the shipping costs. If it’s beyond repair, I’ll do my best to create a replacement or offer a solution of equal value. Please note, I don’t provide refunds for change of mind purchases or for classes and workshops. However, if you give at least 4 days’ notice, a credit note can be issued — this also applies if your class is rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances on my end, such as issues with national park roads.
SHIPPING
Please be aware that I ship using Pack and Send Australia or Australia Post. Shipping costs will be calculated after the final payment for your artwork or workshop. If you prefer, you can also choose local pickup to collect your items in person. Currently, I do not offer international shipping, but if you find something you love, feel free to send me a message through the contact form, and I'll do my best to assist you.
BREAKAGES ON PURCHASES
Unfortunately, breakages can sometimes happen when shipping delicate pieces across the country. If your cherished item arrives damaged, please reach out to me promptly with detailed information and photos. I will gladly work with you to arrange a replacement. Please note, exchanges or refunds are not available for change of mind.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS & PURCHASED ARTWORK CARE
Please DO NOT USE ANY chemicals on any painted artworks. A very lightly damp, and well-rung cloth/microfiber will do. Do not vigorously rub the paint; if you have a patina, it could alter the effect.
Avoid leaving painted sculptures in direct sunlight, as this will cause the acrylic to fade more quickly over time.
If you have any issues with your artwork, cleaning, stains, breakages etc., contact me right away.
Fired Pottery is safe to wipe with a damp cloth.
POTTERY COMPLETION AND COLLECTION PROCESS
After your workshop, your pottery will undergo two kiln firings, a process that generally takes about six weeks. Once your pieces are finished and ready for collection, you will receive an email notification from me. This message will prompt you to choose your preferred method for receiving your work: either picking it up from the studio or having it shipped to your address. (If it’s appropriate or makes life easier, I can also deliver the work to a collection point for the group.)
If you do not respond to the email prompt or collect your pottery within one month of receiving the notification, I will donate your creation to members of the community in need.
AMENITIES AND WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR WORKSHOP
To keep things cozy and easy during the workshop, don’t forget to bring your own snacks & drinks. The studio has a unisex restroom available for everyone’s use. Plus, there’s plenty of street parking nearby, so finding a spot won’t be a problem!
